Who We Are.
We provide a vibrant and empowering support service to young people. We offer fun, educational and accessible opportunities, developing self-esteem, confidence and resilience.
We aim to inspire young people to overcome barriers they may face in their lives by creating trusting, non-judgemental environments that are inclusive, nurturing and respectful, thus enabling them to reach their potential.
-
Who We Support.
We welcome young people from across Bedford and surrounding areas, in school years 1 to 11. The majority of our places are available to those who meet our bursary criteria, ensuring equal opportunities for all.
We pride ourselves on the longevity of the support we give our young people, many of whom have been coming to F4YP for several years. We love being a part of their journey, seeing positive changes as they overcome challenges in their lives.
-
What we do.
Through our support service we deliver after school and holiday programmes. These are informed by our young people and adapted to suit their individual needs. We tackle issues such as bullying, isolation and social skills, while promoting positive well-being, communication and relationship building.
Our pastoral team work alongside families, schools and support agencies to ensure the needs of our young people are met. This can include MASH referrals, attendance at TAF/CIN/CP meetings and signposting to other agencies, as well as referrals to our 1:1 therapy service.
-
Our Team.
Our pastoral support team work alongside 40 sessional tutors and 20 volunteers throughout the year. The skilled and highly experienced team are pivotal to the successful delivery of the service. They all undertake regular safeguarding training and are team teach certified. Many of our tutors teach in schools across Bedfordshire. They are passionate about developing our young people, tailoring activities to meet their needs and get the most out of their time with F4YP.

History
Fun 4 Young People was established in 2005 by Ann Hadfield, delivering after school and holiday clubs to young people in Kempston. In 2015, the charity merged with YMCA Bedfordshire (now IMPAKT Housing & Support). In 2021, Fun 4 Young People once again became an independent charity, taking with us our experienced staff team, infrastructure, resources, and long-term partners and funders.
Fun 4 Young People is committed to continuing to support young people in our communities.
